When should you start Fertility Acupuncture?

Ideally, you are starting treatment with us at least 3 months in advance of when you would like to get implantation or try fervently to get pregnant again. 6 months is optimal. Most women are needing this time to reboot their nervous and endocrine system and to build thicker uterine linings. This takes time. However, if you are starting IVF treatments now it is still ideal to come in and let us support the process so you have a higher chance of implantation. In that case, the best times to visit Source Empowered Wellness are:
Day 5-8 of your menstrual cycle (Follicular phase)
The day before of after ovulation
6-10 day after ovulation (during implantation time)
These are the best times, but we would want to see you any time so that we can help with egg quality, work on any irregularities, address any nutrition concerns of even reduce stress. If you are considering fertility acupuncture, we encourage that you get your initial visit as soon as possible.
How does Fertility Acupuncture work?
When one is under stress, cortisol hormone levels get higher. This neuro-chemical shifts a lot of things in the body off balance, including the pituitary gland which controls the reproductive system.
When you come in for your first visit at Source Empowered Wellness, we will first ask questions regarding your fertility history, menstrual cycles, stress levels, and diet. We will then take your pulse and check your tongue (which is the only muscle you can see in the body so it tells us a lot of what’s going on internally). Based on the information we get, we will establish whether to go ahead with the process or not. Depending on your health and age, your Acupuncturist will recommend the best fertility treatment plan for you.
