There are many benefits of acupuncture.  One benefit of acupuncture is that we can alleviate the withdrawal symptoms from alcohol, illegal substances, smoking, and food making your process of quitting easier with a faster recovery.

 

At Source Empowered Wellness, we support your journey into Wellness in a multifaceted approach.  One of the benefits of acupuncture is that you will feel more calm in your body, mind, and spirit.  We also suggest meditation as an adjunctive way to calm the mind and also suggest journaling so you can gain awareness of when your cravings occur and how best to be supported in the transition.

The optimal time for treatment for acupuncture detox and addiction is at least 45 minutes.  We start by using the NADA auricular protocol to target specific organs such as the liver, kidneys and lungs in order to change your body's biochemistry and calm the mind.   This treatment has proven efficacy in the military and  is often court mandated treatment for  addictions and addictive behavior by California courts.  Body points are also included.

Acupuncture can significantly reduce withdrawal symptoms such as:

How does it work?

Chinese Herbal Medicine for Detox and Addiction:

Source Empowered Wellness has herbal medicine available  to complement treatments.  These herbs work to curb cravings, ease anxiety, reduce irritability, help with sleep, and calm the mind.

Treatment Plan:

Minimum of 2 treatments per week for the first three weeks are optimal.  After three weeks, treatments can be less frequent (2-3x/week) depending on the severity of addiction and withdrawal symptoms and on the individual patient's lifestyle. Usually one can resolve the worst of the withdrawl side effects, quit, and/or greatly reduce their substance intake within 8-12 treatments.  Source Empowered Wellness recommends monthly follow up treatments for 3-6 months.
